Black Swan Holiday Park

Spent two nights at this campsite 6 & 7 March 26, and will not be returning or recommending for the following reasons: - Electric kept on tripping, this was much worse on a morning time. On the Saturday evening the electric when of totally across the site. The following morning it was still of. Speaking with other people, this is very common when the site is full. - Only two showers and two toilets in the Male block, not enough when the site is busy, same with the female block. -Electric hook up box was laying on the ground, looked like it had been like that for a while, I had to prop it up with stick as the box has water ingress, please see pics. - On the Saturday afternoon we visited the pub and asked if we could order a takeaway from the Black Swan as stated. The female working in the bar wasn’t helpful at all and very cold, not welcoming at all. She said that she didn’t think it would be possible to order a takeaway as the restaurant was busy on that night (7 March 26) but did say that we could book a table and eat in the restaurant, which didn’t make sense at all, and also told us that the takeaway boxes were to flimsy???? - No illumination at all on the site when it was dark. - Campsite is advertised as having WiFi. This can only be picked up near the pub and not on the campsite. Overall a poor campsite that needs to be upgraded and the staff need to be more welcoming. If you want a very very quiet site with basic or no amenities, this is the place for you. Most of the camp at the top was filled with permanent, tired looking pitches. On plus, away from the campsite, the surrounding areas has some great walks for humans and 4 legged friends.

The site was a good a good location for walking, and nice to have a pub on site. As mentioned in the other reviews the electrics can trip. We arrived a little early - but they still let us pitch up - it was March so it was fairly quiet. We ate in the pub one night, the food was nice - but in our opinion the portion sizes were quite small for the price.

Lovely place to stay with a fantastic pub on site. Stayed for 2 nights. Facilities all very clean and food was superb. Staff were all very hospitality especially Scott working the bar and restaurant, extremely friendly and accommodating. Would stay again.

Would not recommend!! Electric kept on tripping, when asked for support they told us it was our van despite 4 other campers who were hooked to the same point were off too! Toilet / showers aren’t kept clean, they’re dated and not well looked after. In need of some serious tlc. We went to the pub a few times, for a drink I recommend. But not for food, just reheated over priced microwave food. Not worth the prices.
