Tinakori

Tinakori is a compact cottage tucked into Staithes' network of cobbled streets, with the beach and harbour just a short walk downhill. Built as a fisherman's home, it retains that village-centre character—the shop and pub are even closer than the shore. The cottage sits on the Heritage Coast within the North York Moors National Park, putting Runswick Bay and Sandsend within easy driving distance, and Whitby ten miles away.

Inside, the layout spreads across three floors. The ground floor holds the main living space with a woodburner, a separate dining area, and a kitchen equipped for everyday cooking. Upstairs are two bedrooms—a double and a single—plus a bathroom with bath and shower. A second living room with TV occupies the first floor, and a third single bedroom sits on the top floor. The cottage sleeps four and welcomes one dog at no extra cost. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and wi-fi are covered; initial logs for the woodburner are provided. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed. There's a small terrace with garden furniture, and parking is arranged 250 yards away in the public car park with permit included.

The cottage has steep spiral stairs and a four-step entrance; smoking is not permitted. It suits families or groups happy to be based in a working village rather than in isolation, with coastal walks, the steam railway, and local fishing and golf all nearby.
