Whistle Stop is a ground-floor apartment in Ruswarp, a village on the River Esk upstream from Whitby. What makes it distinctive is the view: the property overlooks the railway platform, so you can watch steam trains heading towards Pickering, or the regular service to Middlesbrough winding through the valley. A footpath beside the tracks leads into Whitby town centre, just over a mile away on foot. The North York Moors National Park is also within reach, and the river itself is within walking distance.
The apartment sleeps six across three bedrooms: a super king, a double, and two singles (the master has an ensuite shower). A family bathroom with both bath and shower serves the other rooms. Downstairs is an open-plan living and dining space with a woodburner, a Smart TV, and a kitchen fitted with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, wine cooler and other essentials. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are included. There is private parking for two cars and an electric car charging point. A 14-step entrance leads into the property.
The setting appeals to families and groups wanting a base between coast and moor, with the oddity of the railway views providing something different. Note that stag and hen parties are not accepted, and the property is non-smoking throughout.
