It was our first trip to this campsite and we were not disappointed. Getting to the site was straightforward, although the village just before it is quite narrow — still no real issue even with an 8ft‑wide caravan. The site itself was perfect in every aspect. Our pitch was exactly what you’d expect, and although the park was busy, you’d never know due to the thoughtful layout. The staff were amazing — friendly, helpful, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The toilet and shower blocks were absolutely pristine. We would highly recommend this campsite and will definitely be visiting again.

Cote Ghyll is an amazing campsite in fantastic surroundings. We've been coming for years and love it. Camping in a wooded valley, listening to birds, owls at sunset, ducks visiting, with a stream running through is just a treat. There are fabulous walks directly from the site, the village is picture postcard pretty with good pubs, especially recommend the food and service of the Golden Lion. The facilities on the campsite are great, and there is continued investment. The team are friendly and approachable. If you have kids it's a great place to come with two play areas. If you don't have kids with you and prefer a quieter site I would say avoid weekends and school holidays. Looking forward to a revisit in the autumn.

Site is well maintained with a shop - small games room and washroom. Toilets and showers in clean good working order. Unfortunately our pitch lost the sunshine in the afternoon as the site has very tall trees surrounding it. Other pitches more central are best but are not fully serviced. Should you need food I believe the Mill next to the site has a decent menu although we never used it so cant comment on what it is like. If you do require internet to watch TV or play games you will struggle at this site. They do have WiFi but it is slow!! We were pitched next to a WiFi extender Ariel but could only get 1/2 bars at best. The last stretch of road from Osmotherly to the camp site is saturated with parked cars along the roadside which makes pulling a touring van a bit hazardous as no passing points from oncoming vehicles. Osmotherly village only offers a pub and small cafe but its quite nice. All in all I would recommend this site.

We had a lovely stay here for one night whilst doing the Cleveland Way. Friendly service, we were able to do our laundry for £4, and a great breakfast too. Really the only downside is it’s a bit away from the trail and Osmotherley so we walked back into town for dinner, but the location was so lovely and secluded that it made up for it. Definitely recommend!
