Cresswell Towers Holiday Park

Since my review below, we are owners of over 3 years and lately had a few issues, which have still not been resolved! This is really disappointing this has happened since the Manager and Sales Team have changed it has gone downhill. Great holiday camp. Lovely staff and various size caravans and lodges to rent. Swimming pool, carting, playground, general fenced off area for games. Pele tower and gardens a short walk and also the most scrumptious ice cream shop about a 10 min walk. Bus stop outside of park. Entertainment bar with bingo, children’s entertainment and lovely food. Bar staff very helpful. Takeaways deliver to the gate at the site.

I cannot fault the caravan park or its staff. The caravan was clean and tidy, there was plenty to do on site, and I felt it was a safe environment for my children. However, we decided to eat in the complex bar one evening, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. My child is a fussy eater, so I specifically ordered a plain chicken burger. When it arrived, it had cheese on it. The member of staff serving us took it away, and I assumed a replacement would be brought out. Instead, another staff member came over and told me that next time I should make sure I ordered correctly. I explained that I had ordered a plain chicken burger and simply wanted the incorrect order replaced. Around 30 minutes later, the replacement finally arrived. As a paying customer, if my order is incorrect, I expect it to be replaced without being spoken to rudely. Mistakes happen, but there is no need for poor customer service or an unpleasant attitude. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I chose not to return to the show bar for the rest of our stay.

We came here for a week with 2 children and 1 baby. Our caravan was well placed next to the complex which we were grateful for, and my parents stayed at the other side of the park. We had a mixed time here, and I think it's best to summarise into pros and cons. TLDR: it's too loud, I wouldn't recommend it. Pros: Major pro is the staff. Almost everyone we spoke to (bar staff, security, pool staff) would go out of their way to be pleasant to us and the kids. Facilities are all a bit tired (park has broken bits, there's broken glass on the floor in places etc) but there is plenty to do if you don't expect to be on site all week. You can't hire the karts online, you hire from reception but they're really fun. Pool activities were great, and at one point we were the only people in. Caravan was again fine but a bit tired and musty smelling when we came in. The grounds are lovely, lots of wide open spaces. It is literally a 5 minute walk to the beach. Cresswell Pele Tower is just behind the site and the walled gardens are pleasant. Although the area seems remote, there is an Asda, Aldi, Home Bargains etc 10 minutes drive away. Cons: We were right next to the football cage. There were kids there until 11.30pm some nights, screaming, swearing and slamming balls off the metal fences around it. We rang security once when it got to 10.30pm and they came out and they quietened down for a minute or two but then they just ratched up again. Honestly, I don't want to spend a holiday ringing security. Why not just lock the cage? It woke our baby up several times, made sleeping hard and honestly ruined the stay. When asking the kids on the drive home, despite having had a great holiday, they gave the site 3/5 because they couldn't sleep. Pool is very small, we went four times. First time was fab, two times for activities and then once when it was packed. The limit of people must be quite high. Caravan rooms are tiny (gold), with no storage so bear this in mind. We paid for wifi and it was still terrible, basically unusable. The tvs have netflix but can't connect because of it being so bad. So, we liked the area and would come back, just not to the Parkdean site which is a shame, as generally I think Parkdean sites are pretty good.

My first experience was at the Parkdean Southerness and since that's my benchmark, the other places doesn't live up to it. Good overall, the caravan was spotless clean. I had taken the 3 bedroom last 2 times and this 2 bedroom was majorly cramped compared to that, a person standing at the kitchen would block everyone moving around, could have been a better thought interior plan, also the WIFI stopped working after a day and the exhaust fan in the bathroom wasn't working.
