Alnwick Castle and the Alnwick Garden dominate this corner of Northumberland, and 12 Market Street puts you within reach of both. The castle is famous enough—medieval fortress, royal residence, film location—but the garden has become its own draw: an eighteen-acre contemporary space with water features, a poison garden, and enough to fill a full day. The coast is a mile away, and Alnwick itself has a working harbour, a centre busy enough for proper exploration, and a pub within easy reach.
The cottage itself is a whole property to yourself, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms—each bedroom has its own en-suite. Downstairs, there is a living room for quiet evenings and a kitchen where you can cook; a dining area sits between them. Upstairs, the two double bedrooms are set up for comfort and storage. A patio outside gives you somewhere to sit. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. On-street parking is available nearby. The house does not permit smoking.
It suits couples, small families, or friends travelling together, and it works as a base whether you want active days walking the coast, visiting Bamburgh and Beadnell along the shore, or taking your time with the garden and castle. The beach is roughly half a mile on foot.
