Dipper Cottage

Northumberland

View on Google Maps

Seahouses is a working fishing village on the Northumberland coast where boat trips to the Farne Islands depart regularly, and Dipper Cottage sits within easy walking distance of the harbour. The cottage itself is a traditional mid-terraced building with a wood burner in the open-plan living area, a separate kitchen with electric cooking, and two bedrooms—one double, one with a bunk bed below and single above—sharing a shower room and separate toilet. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; parking for one car is on site, and one well-behaved pet stays free.

The village has pubs, restaurants, tearooms and shops. Bamburgh lies 2 miles north, its castle anchoring the coastline above wide sandy beaches where you can see Lindisfarne (Holy Island) on clear days. South along the shore, Beadnell Bay and Budle Bay offer birdwatching; the latter transforms into expanses of mudflat at low tide. Horse riding is available at the edge of the village, and there's a links golf course nearby. The cottage does not permit smoking. No-smoking guests with dogs will find this a practical base for exploring the coast on foot and by boat.
