Chareside Cottage
Northumberland
Corbridge sits in the Tyne Valley, 16 miles west of Newcastle, on the scenic banks of the River Tyne. This 19th-century stone cottage occupies one of the village's main streets, putting you within easy reach of the local pub, independent shops, restaurants and tearooms that line the historic centre. The village itself has Saxon roots and Roman heritage woven into its buildings; walking down to the river from the heart of the village takes you past Georgian and Victorian architecture and down to the water's edge.
Chareside Cottage is arranged over two floors and sleeps four. Downstairs, the living room has a gas fire and wooden floors, and the dining room seats four at a table with doors opening onto a rear courtyard. The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals. Upstairs are two bedrooms—one with a king bed and patio doors leading to a small balcony with River Tyne views, the other with zip-and-link single beds—and a bathroom with both bath and shower. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; there is parking for one car on a permit basis. The cottage does not permit smoking.
The Tyne Valley is known for walking and outdoor activity. Corbridge has golf nearby, and the riverside setting makes it a natural base for exploring on foot. The village itself rewards a wander—the independent retailers and food places mean you can spend an afternoon browsing without needing to venture far.
