Seahouses harbour and its working seafront are a ten-minute walk from Claremont, a 200-year-old stone cottage in the quiet centre of North Sunderland. The beach lies just beyond. It is a place to base yourself for coastal walks, fish-and-chip suppers by the water, and the kind of holiday where you can slip out for an hour and be back within the hour. The village has a church opposite the property itself.
Inside, the cottage mixes original character with renovation completed in 2020. Exposed stone walls and wooden beams run through most rooms; upstairs, 200-year-old floorboards have been restored. Downstairs, limestone flags and a vaulted kitchen with granite work surfaces are newer. Two king-size bedrooms sit upstairs, each with its own shower room and heated towel rail. A ground-floor living room has a wood burner (logs included), a second sitting area is on the first floor, and the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. One well-behaved dog stays free. A shared courtyard garden has seating and furniture, and there is parking for two cars outside.
The cottage does not accept children. Smoking is not permitted indoors.
