Rodney
Northumberland
North Sunderland sits quietly in the old village centre, just beyond the bustle of Seahouses harbour and its beaches. Rodney stands opposite St Paul's Church, set back from the road in a secluded spot that nonetheless keeps the seafront within a ten-minute walk. The cottage was fully renovated in 2020, keeping its original character—exposed stone, restored wooden beams salvaged from ship timbers, and 200-year-old floorboards upstairs—while installing modern comforts throughout.
The property sleeps four across two first-floor bedrooms, each with a king bed and en-suite or nearby bathroom. Downstairs, a living room with woodburner and 43-inch smart TV opens to a well-equipped kitchen and dining space. There is also a study on the first floor. Essentials including electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided, along with logs for the woodburner. Heating comes from an air source heat pump with underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators upstairs. One well-behaved dog stays free. Private parking covers two cars, and there is a slow electric vehicle charging point on site. The courtyard garden, shared with one neighbouring property, has seating and furniture for outdoor time.
North Sunderland suits those after coastal proximity without the seaside-town atmosphere, or walkers heading to the beaches and the Farne Islands boat trips at Seahouses. Note that children are not accommodated here, and smoking is not permitted.
