High Trees Annex
Northumberland
High Trees Annex is a converted stone building attached to the owner's home, with its own entrance and a fully enclosed garden. Downstairs is an open-plan living space with a kitchen at one end and a sitting area at the other; upstairs, reached by internal stairs, is a double bedroom and shower room. The stairs open directly into the bedroom, which has no door. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all provided, and there's a washer-dryer in the garage.
The garden has pebbled seating areas, furniture and a barbecue. One car can park on site, and there's an electric charging point. One well-behaved dog stays free; the owner can arrange dog sitting for a fee (vaccination certificate needed). The property does not accept children, and smoking is not permitted.
Druridge Bay's sand dunes and Cresswell's nature reserve and country park are 4 miles away. Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, with offshore sculptures and a Maritime Centre, is 6 miles north; Amble and its Sunday market are 7 miles further. Alnwick Castle lies 17 miles inland, and Newcastle Quayside is 21 miles away. The coastal cycle route runs through the area, popular with walkers and cyclists.
