Inglenook - Joseph’s Hide
Northumberland
Push open the stable door and you're in Inglenook – Joseph's Hide, a shepherd's hut on the edge of Haltwhistle in Northumberland. Four steps lead up to a single open-plan room where everything happens: a bunk bed (double base, single above) in one corner, a compact kitchen with electric oven and two-ring hob, a sitting area with Freeview TV and a woodburning stove keeping things warm. The shower room is tucked to the side. One small dog can come with you. Parking for one car is on site, and the hut is non-smoking.
Electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with fuel for the stove. Outside is a sitting area where you can use the garden furniture, though this is shared with other properties in the grounds. Haltwhistle itself – a walk away – has traditional pubs, restaurants and shops. The town sits within reach of Hadrian's Wall and its associated Roman sites. A leisure centre with heated outdoor pool, cycle hire and pony trekking are all nearby. Regular train and bus services run from Haltwhistle to Newcastle, the Metro Centre and Carlisle if you want to explore further.
