Lobster Apartment

This ground-floor apartment occupies a converted building in Seahouses' historic fishing quarter, arranged around a cobbled courtyard. The layout is compact: downstairs holds an open-plan kitchen and dining space with a cooker, fridge, kettle and toaster, plus a sitting area with television; upstairs, a double bedroom and shower room. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. There's access to a communal laundry room and parking for one car within the courtyard, though the archway entrance is tight for large vehicles. One dog is welcome to stay.

The location is the main draw. You're yards from Seahouses harbour with its working fishing boats, and the beach stretches along the coast in both directions. The village itself has independent shops, a butcher, baker, pubs and restaurants within easy reach. From here you can arrange boat trips to the Farne Islands to see puffins and seals, or drive five minutes to Bamburgh's castle and award-winning beach. Alnwick with its famous castle and gardens is 20 minutes away; Lindisfarne and the Northumberland Coast AONB are similarly close. This is a working fishing village rather than a manicured resort, which shapes the character of a stay here. No smoking inside the apartment.
