Oake Cottage

This stone cottage sits in a quiet village where the Northumberland countryside meets the coast. Oake Cottage is the second property in a small terrace, positioned close enough to the river that you can walk to it in moments. The beach lies less than half a mile away, and the village itself has a pub, shop and restaurant all within a few hundred yards. One dog is welcome to stay free.

The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms: one double and two singles. Downstairs, an open-plan living space combines a sitting area with a dining zone and kitchen; the wood burner makes it genuinely warm through cooler months. A shower room and central heating are on hand. Essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with initial fuel for the wood burner. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, and there's a small seating area outside at the front.

Walking distance brings you to village pubs, cafés and gift shops. Warkworth Castle is a pleasant stroll away. Alnwick—with its castle, water gardens and wider range of amenities—is just a short drive, and the sandy beach stretches three miles north to Alnmouth. There's a free public car park nearby. No smoking inside.
