Youngers Cottage works well for small families or couples after a quiet Northumberland break. The two bedrooms—a double and a pair of bunks—sleep four, and there's one bathroom with a shower cubicle. You get the whole place to yourself, with your own entrance and a private setting close to the River Coquet. One small dog stays free.
The ground floor has an open-plan living space with a wood burner, dining area and kitchen where you can cook proper meals. Upstairs are the bedrooms. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided, along with heating and the first load of fuel for the burner. A public car park is 200 yards away. The cottage is in Warkworth village, where there's a pub within a mile and local shops nearby. Note that the stairs are steep and spiral. No smoking indoors.
The river is metres away—there's boat hire during summer—and a sandy beach lies half a mile off. Riverside walks are on your doorstep, and Alnmouth beach stretches north. Boat trips run from Amble for sea fishing and to see the seabirds on Coquet Island.
