Rowan Cottage

Northumberland

View on Google Maps

Craster is a working fishing village centred on its harbour, where the famous smokery still produces kippers and the coastal path stretches toward Dunstanburgh Castle and the beaches beyond. Rowan Cottage sits just off the harbour in the village centre, a semi-detached fisherman's cottage from 1890 with enough character for a family holiday or a couple wanting to explore this stretch of Northumberland coast. The village has a pub and restaurants within walking distance, and the wider area is scattered with castles, sandy beaches and quiet inland villages.

Inside, the cottage sleeps six across three bedrooms: one double with an ensuite shower, and two further rooms with single beds. There are two bathrooms in total. Downstairs, a sitting room with a woodburner and books opens to a dining room and kitchen where you can cook properly, with a dishwasher to help. A utility room has a washing machine. The essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are provided, along with initial logs for the stove. One well-behaved dog can stay free. There is parking for two cars on site.

A tiered garden sits about thirty yards from the cottage with seating, a barbecue and views toward the sea. Families travelling with young children will find a travel cot and two highchairs available. Smoking is not permitted inside.
