About Old Rectory
Tucked into the grounds of a Georgian country house just 400 yards from the Northumberland coast, Old Rectory offers a single six-metre bell tent in a secluded, tree-sheltered corner with views over green farmland. Inside you'll find a double bed, woodburning stove, fridge, kettle and attractive furnishings; a private shower and toilet sit 50 metres away in a converted dovecot. Hot breakfast butties can be delivered to your tent if you order the night before, and there's a barbecue area plus basic provisions storage for other meals.
A real bonus: guests get a key to the main B&B, where you'll find a licensed bar, guest lounge and – if you book ahead – a dining room serving evening meals alongside other guests. The tiny, peaceful village of Howick is on your doorstep, while the larger fishing village of Craster (with its tourist info and pub) is a pleasant 30-minute coastal walk away. It's a lovely, intimate set-up, though the single pitch means availability can be tight.

What visitors say
My husband and I recently stayed at the Old Rectory for our honeymoon. We booked the Jill room just for two nights, and what an experience it was. The room and bathroom were very spacious and beautifully furnished. The whole experiance was very relaxing! Jude and Dave were so accomodating. On our arival we were greeted with joy and shown around. They kindly left Preseco for us in the room to celebrate. Despite Dave haveing saturday nights off he was kind enough to offer cook a dinner for us as we had arrived too late for food on Friday night. Both this and breakfast were well presented and delisious. Nina our lab was welcomed like a member of the family even having her own bowl of sauasge for all meals! The Restaurant recomendations Jude gave were spot on amd the honesty bar in the lounge was well stocked. Every night the fire was lit and we were encouraged to relax. The location is perfect and veiws particularly in the bathroom were stunning especially on the sunny mornings. Whilst the local roads are rough in places Old rectory is easy distance from many of the local attractions and easy to find. We cant wait to come back and have already agreed that this will now become a regular weekend spot for us!

Out of all the places we stayed while walking the Northumberland Coast Path, this was the best. Huge room, great bathroom, super quiet, beautiful views and the food was out of this world. Fresh and local ingredients and really delicious preparation.

Jude and Dave were amazing hosts and very accommodating to whatever you may need. The house is beautiful set along the northumbrian coast. Perfect if your walking and exploring the northumbrian coast The dinner and breakfast were fantastic, the rooms comfortable and the grounds peaceful and beautiful. Thank-you!!

The hostess was rude and unwelcoming right from the beginning. The hosts told us to fill up a form and let them know what we wanted for breakfast the night before which we did. And yet, the hostess informed us with no hint of apology that she would only give us one egg each as she would not have any left for her other guests! What kind of a bed and breakfast refuses to give its guests eggs for breakfast! The rooms are quite dated and worn out. The curtains and arm chairs looked like they desperately needed a wash. We have met multiple friendly B&B hosts that this kind of behaviour came as a rude shock.
