Teal Cottage
Northumberland
Embleton sits on the Northumberland Heritage Coast, a stretch of cliffs and bays that draws walkers and photographers year-round. Teal Cottage stands in the village centre itself, a stone terrace within a hundred yards of the shop and pub. The beach lies a mile downhill; Craster harbour, famous for its smokery and coastal path walks, is close enough for a morning trip. The village has a play park and the kind of quiet that makes a real difference to a holiday.
The cottage holds two bedrooms—a double and two singles—and one bathroom with a shower over the bath. Downstairs, the kitchen has everything needed to cook properly: oven, hob, dishwasher, and a separate utility room. The living room, with its electric fire, opens onto an enclosed sitting area at the front. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels come as standard. There is parking for two cars on site.
If you travel with a dog, it stays free and the cottage provides extras to make them comfortable. The location works equally well for families wanting a seaside base—Seahouses and the Farne Islands boat trips are 7 miles away, Alnwick Castle 8 miles—or for adults who simply want walking country and a pub dinner within reach. No smoking indoors.
