The Beach House is a detached coastal property where everything needed for a week away is already in place. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms sleep six; one bedroom has a double bed, another holds two singles, and the third a double. Downstairs, the open-plan living space centres on a woodburner with views toward the sea, while the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking—electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer all present. Bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and wifi are included. A utility room has a washing machine; there is also a playroom with a TV. The property sits on the Northumberland coast near Seahouses, with private parking for three cars on site and a patio outside.

The beach lies immediately opposite, within easy reach for swimming, walking or simply watching the water. Seahouses itself, two miles north, is a working fishing port where boat trips to the Farne Islands depart regularly; the islands are known for seabird colonies and grey seals. The village has pubs, tea rooms and shops within walking distance. No smoking throughout the property.

The staff were generally friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was good, and the room was generally comfortable. The bathroom had a very weak extractor fan that seemed to pull barely any air. We found that leaving the bathroom door open and the skylight open was the only effective way to clear the smell. However, after housekeeping the extractor had been switched off, the bathroom door closed, and there was a very strong chlorine smell throughout the bathroom. The evening food was okay, but there are a couple of things worth noting if you're considering the Dinner, Bed & Breakfast package. The booking described it as including a £25 dinner allowance per adult, but I couldn't find anywhere in the booking information or terms and conditions explaining that this allowance only applied to food and not drinks. I only discovered this when reviewing the final hotel bill. I would also note that the drinks pricing was confusing. The menu listed lemonade at £3.95 without specifying a serving size, yet we were charged £5.45 for what the bill described as a pint of lemonade. On another occasion, my wife ordered a Diet Coke. The server repeated the order back as "Diet Coke", but brought a Pepsi Max without mentioning there would be a substitution. As she wasn't expecting a different drink, she initially thought something was wrong with it because the taste wasn't what she was expecting. It was only after checking the menu that we realised the hotel serves Pepsi products rather than Coke. These experiences left me feeling that the hotel could be more transparent in how it presents its packages, pricing and substitutions.

Stayed here whilst walking the coastal path. Location is great - right on the path. Comfortable and well appointed room. It would have been a five star but when we opened the window for some fresh air there was some sort of boiler exhaust drifting up from below the window. Receptionist was very welcoming and helpful and the breakfast in the morning was very good.

We had the best 3 night stay here for our baby moon. The staff were incredible and so warm / welcoming. We had our dog, Buster, with us who was treated like royalty (he was given a breakfast sausage every morning unprompted). You get free access to the local spa/leisure centre by staying here and we made use of the pool and the gym which was great. Central location for walking in to town and lots to do. Highly recommend and would stay again!
