Caravan park on Nottinghamshire lakes with electric hook-ups and fishing on two waters.
About Lakeside Touring Caravan Park
Lakeside Touring Caravan Park sits on the water's edge in Thorney, with pitches looking out over two lakes that form the backbone of the site. The setting is peaceful and rural, and the lakes themselves are well-stocked for fishing – a significant draw for many visitors.
Pitches come with electric hook-ups and lake views. The facilities include showers, toilets and a laundry room, all kept to a high standard. Staff are attentive and helpful, making an effort to ensure guests have a relaxing visit.
This is a working fishing destination as much as a holiday park, so expect a quieter, more contemplative atmosphere than a general family site. The location works well for anglers or anyone seeking a water-based break without the coastal crowds.

What visitors say
An absolute gem of a site! The attention to detail and immaculate appearance of Lakeside is testament to Phil & Carol’s love of what they have created. Super dog walking locally as well as an enclosed area (available to book on arrival) and the woodland wander. Fishing is hard but very rewarding with excellent, healthy carp in excess of 20lb. Breakfast at the cafe was high quality and delicious and the food van on Friday was also exceptional , the best pie! Such a relaxing, quiet site pitched alongside like minded guests. We loved it and will undoubtedly be back. Looking forward to seeing Phil & Carol’s vision for the future of Lakeside become a reality. See you soon and thank you both x ,

Just had a fantastic two week holiday at Lakeside Caravan Park, Thorney. We were on a fully serviced pitch, on the side of the specimen lake and caught lots of quality specimen carp. The site is extremely well maintained and the owners, Phil and Carol, are great hosts and make everyone welcome. Whilst we were there we attended the weekend event, featuring live entertainment in the form of a Queen tribute band, which was a great nights entertainment and included food. Thank you Phil and Carol, Lakeside is a first class holiday site, of which you should be proud. We will definitely be returning.

I cannot recommend this caravan park enough. We will be returning as soon as we can. We went to lakeside on the recommendation from our neighbours. My partner spent a day fishing which he said has got his mojo back, catching the wonderful fish in the specimen lake. Phil and Carol are obviously extremely passionate about everything on site, from the fish and their health and well-being to the immaculate toilets. They are extremely welcoming and always pottering about site doing something, whether that’s cutting the grass or cleaning the toilets. Every other camper we spoke to on site was lovely too. If you want somewhere relaxing, welcoming, clean with excellent fish and no screaming children belting footballs near your caravan, lakeside is the place for you! We cannot wait to return it’s all we’ve spoke about all week!

It is a wonderful tranquil place to relax and unwind. The owners Phil & Carol are passionate about creating a welcoming atmosphere with immaculate facilities. The beautiful site is extremely well maintained, from the wonderful green lawns that surround the lakes to the fantastic well equipped bathrooms and laundry room. The fishing lakes are well stocked, and pegs are strong and secure. A small cafe is on site doing refreshments and full english breakfasts if required. The site is surrounded by stunning woodland walks that take you along to the local village. The dog walking field is again well maintained with dog bins emptied daily, a seating area, and beautiful views over the fields . Nothing is too much trouble, and the owners value feedback in order to make something wonderful truly even better. Lakeside is pure bliss, the perfect place for fishing, walking, and taking in the scenery. Highly recommended to all 😊
