We went away as a family for the bank holiday, including my brother who is disabled (autistic and non-verbal), and overall we came away with a bit of a mixed review. Good points: Great WiFi – We were really happy with the signal in our lodge. My brother relies heavily on his devices and finds it extremely stressful when they don’t work properly, so this made a huge difference. Amazing staff – We had an issue where the hot tub was too hot, and reception sent someone out very quickly to fix it. The service was excellent and very much appreciated. Beautiful location – Quiet, lots of wildlife, and just a stunning setting overall. Reasonably priced for a bank holiday – From what we could see, prices weren’t heavily inflated for the school/bank holiday period, which was refreshing. Bad points: The lodge wasn’t as clean as we’d hoped – our feet were black from walking on the floors. The bedroom doors didn’t shut properly, which regularly disturbed both my brother and our dog. Lack of plug sockets – unusually, there were no obvious sockets in the bedrooms. We actually had to pull a bed out to find one. The lodge felt a little outdated and could do with some TLC. Overall, it was a real mixed experience. While there were definitely positives, I don’t think we would stay again due to the issues mentioned above.

We loved our first cabin, but there was a few issues with it.. Straight away they moved us to another cabin which was beautiful and perfectly safe for our autistic non verbal grandson who absolutely loved it .. The service from Terri, to the maintenance man and the hot tub man was fantastic even offering us an extra night free of charge.. We will definitely be booking another holiday with you next year if not sooner.. Thank you for making it so special for us 😁

Just back from a three day break at the Hideaway , was a little worried about some of the reviews , but did'nt experience any real problems , Lodge was very clean , had all the utencils needed , bathroom lovely , bed comfortable , did l find issues yes ? Unfortuantly an age related thing no DVD player to watch a film i'd taken , as regards being told "streaming" never saw a river at all so made do with normal tv 😉🤔 hot tub was a treat , water warm , rain cold , but thats how it is , had a rain free day so scalp stopped dry , found staff very pleasant / helpful , yes perhaps road around site needs a little TLC but still better than the local council roads !! Lodges in general are showing wear , being in the forest area its obvious they take a battering , it was certainly an improvement of the previous accomadation l had there 🤔 mind you that was when l was in the TA in the 60 s and the billets had coal stoves in. !!! Enjoyed our stay and would def return
