Overal not impressed. Location is great but the staff are rude. Lets start with the positives. The location is amazing, inside the forrest its like a home from home. The lodges are fine with the ideal requirement is the hot tub. Maintenance was daily and even emptying bins and keeping it tidy. There is a burger van which did amazing pizzas and burgers as well as drinks etc. This was very well received. On to the negatives. The leisure area is tired and needs a major uplift. The pool is shedding paint and looks awful. There is a shop but this is only open when there is someone in reception which in our experience is never. The shop is small and empty. Now on to the main issues. The staff. Rude is an understatement. There is a female staff member that is so rude everyone we talked to moaned about her. Driving fast around the site, rude to everyone. Just seem to hate everyone. The lads were mostly fine but clearly no job satisfaction there. Will we be back? Hell no. Not a chance.

Its a hard one, we booked through wowcha, & when we arrived they didnt have our booking. So they had to quickly sort it. Warmed up the hot tub in 40 mins though so not a problem. The location is lovely for a quiet retreat & the accommodation is lovely a lot around. We had a lodge with open fire so needed to buy wood. We didnt know this prior but this is the main source of heat. It is lovely once you have it on & itd toastie but we paid an additional £20 for thr log package & it hasn't lasted a day. The wood is damp & doesnt burn for long. Bare this in mind

So, we booked this as a couples holiday, however after reading the reviews we were a little worried about what we were walking into, but I am absolutely stunned at how its been given the negative reviews that it has. We stayed in the 3 bed pondside superior cabin 38 for 2 nights. The location is absolutely beautiful, peaceful and very tranquil. We had our own private hot tub and sauna. The rooms were very clean, exactly as pictured and our cabin was very spacious. A lot of the issues I have seen in previous posts, even though others are entitled to their opinions, was a lot of nit picking. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and when we could not figure out the sauna, the out of hour maintaince man arrived within 20 minutes and was very helpful and kind. The instructions on how to use things, were very clear. We enjoyed it so much, we actually booked another day. It was absolutely lovely and good value for money. The hot tub and sauna were extremely clean, warm and a great way to relax. I have seen a lot of complaints about bits of tree getting into the hot tub, and yes you do get a little bit of tree in the hot tub, but for us it was just a part of being surrounded by trees, which really cannot be avoided but it was not a problem for us as the hot tubs are cleaned twice a day and has its own cleaning setting. There is a very small amount of wear and tear in the cabin, but it was no issue at all and its probably been caused by the amount of people who leave their wet towels and clothes on the floor, and it was extremely minor despite the other reviews saying it was awful. There are plenty of things to do in the nearby town, and amenities, restaurants and takeaways are a short drive. My two only complaints is there could of been a few more kitchen utensils and I did choose not to use the pool as it does need the paint work redone, but it did still look clean. I throughly enjoyed my stay and ill definitely be rebooking. Looked like there was a good amount of things for children to do too. Do not be put off by the reviews! Fully worth it.

Arrived on Wednesday at 4.45pm, was given a key and nothing else. We found a number of issues with the cabin during the next couple of hours. We went to reception the following morning to find the site was going to be unmanned all day (and night). Reported some of the issues to the site manager via voicemail, was unable to mention everything as the call suddenly went dead. Got a garbled tecty message from the site manager later that day late afternoon with no help or support whatsoever. The following morning when we went to hand the keys in, same notice as previous day, the site will be unmanned. None of the issues got dealt with, in fact we're given no consideration whatsoever. Inside pool shut all the time we were in site. Cabins were dirty and disgusting and nothing like the photos we saw prior to making the booking. We have raised complaints to the head office via the company we used to book the stay almost a week ago and heard absolutely nothing. This company simply doesn't not care about their customers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
