About Adams Guest House
Adams Guest House occupies a converted family home on Banbury Road in Oxford, a straightforward B&B rather than a grand hotel. The rooms are simple and unfussy, with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room and free WiFi throughout, plus family rooms for those travelling with children.
Breakfast is included and served on site, with a restaurant available for other meals, and staff are on hand around the clock at 24 hour reception. Laundry service is offered for longer stays, and free on-site parking is a practical bonus in a city where that's not always easy to come by.
The surrounding area has plenty to offer, with pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, along with entertainment options and a golf course within reach. It suits guests after a no-frills base for exploring Oxford rather than a polished, full-service stay.
What guests say
The rooms are covered in mould, stains, bugs and we even found pubic hair on the sheets. The whole building is dated, smells and almost ruined our whole trip. Avoid this place.

Nice place. Stayed overnight in room 4. Nice clean room for a family of 3 to stay over. Breakfast in the morning of toast, cereal and fruit and yoghurt. Would of liked a cooked breakfast but not the end of the world. Host is lovely. Would stay again

Good location. Good and fair room. Good service. But….very big problem with communication. It’s said you will have parking on the premises. You will actually park off the street close to guest house, OFF the street without permit, will allow you parking from 8 am to 11 am, only 3 hours. 8pm to 8am is ok. During the day will be a big problem. Lacking of clarity, if not honesty with the wording used regarding parking. Very surprised, disappointed and frustrated. Parked my car at the designated place and was received by the owner of the pension telling me to remove my car off to the street at 10:30 pm, while another guest could keep his car there. Very weird and awkward situation. Everything else was expected and proportional with the price paid, nothing negative to add about it exception the parking bad surprise. Could work alright as long as parking is not a deal breaker for you.

We were a bit worried by some of the reviews, but ended up booking anyways. Our stay at the Guest House was really good despite the negative reviews. We had no trouble what so ever. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The room got what you need. The host is really nice and helpful. The breakfast isn’t five stars, but you get what you pay for. It contains five different cereals, three different types of bread, jam and butter, fruit, different types of yogurt, juice, tea and coffee. The location was really good despite being a bit far from the city centre. It takes around 40 minutes to walk from the Guesthouse to the city centre. It is a really easy and nice straightforward route, where you at the end can walk through a park. Furthermore, it only takes 13 minutes by bus, and bus stop is just outside the front door. We would definitely recommend if you don’t want to spend loads on accommodation. *the pictures were taken when we left. The room is therefore a bit messy compared to how it looked when we came.
