What visitors say
I visited this zoo yesterday and it was honestly the best zoo I’ve ever been to! The habitats for the animals were so well looked after and were large for them to roam. There were a wide variety of animals to see, alongside an ice cream stall selling carte dor and plenty of toilets. There is also a restaurant on site which I didn’t visit. Overall, it was truly an amazing experience, ending with a visit to the gift shop which was spacious and had a wide variety of gifts and toys. Would highly recommend this zoo!

My friend and I had a great day at Paignton Zoo. I wasn’t expecting such a wide variety of animals. I particularly enjoyed seeing the apes who came right up to us. It’s your luck if the animals choose to come out of their hiding places. The staff are so friendly and helpful too. Reasonable entry price.

Just shy of a five star rating due to my visiting time, too much works going on! So many exhibits on the way but not there yet! No fault whatsoever to the zoo as I know they are undergoing some fantastic works for new enclosures new animals etc! Overall it was a great day out despite the rain catching us! Saw some amazing animals and I have to say being a Londoner this is a good competitor to London zoo! Enjoyed this a lot and if you’re visiting our local and not been, you need to go! Absolutely amazing if you have kids or If like me you’re a kid at heart and you simply love animals.

Always wanted to visit and glad we did. Weather wasn't great but that didn't spoil our visit. Animals looked happy enough and seem to have lots of space. Found the map, and signs, confusing. Also there were lots of paths closed off (1 after about 100 metres - a warning would have been nice). Also not many staff around to ask. Not many places to sit, especially in reception (no seating) when waiting to be picked up. Disappointed that there weren't any sandwiches offered - just pasties, sausage rolls, nachos, jacket potatoes and chips. Cakes were also a bit on the small side. Will definitely go back but probably take a packed lunch. There seem to be lots of areas not being used - incubation room for example. Seems a waste to have those facilities but not use them
