53-room hotel on Paignton's seafront with clean, roomy en-suites, some sea views, and free parking on site.

About Marine Hotel

Step into a room at the Marine Hotel and you'll find a good amount of space, an en-suite bathroom and, in many cases, a view straight out over the sea. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available among the 53 in total, and while some are a little dated in their decor, they're kept clean and comfortable, with drinks available to enjoy in-room after a day out.

Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar for meals and evening drinks, plus a garden and outdoor seating area to make the most of the coastal air. Breakfast gets consistent praise, served hot and generously, and staff are on hand around the clock at 24 hour reception to help with whatever guests need. Free WiFi runs throughout, and free on-site parking takes the hassle out of arriving by car.

The hotel's seafront position in Paignton puts guests within easy reach of Devon's coastline, with walking and cycling routes nearby, along with golf, fishing and watersports for those wanting to get active. Pubs, restaurants and entertainment are all close by too, making it a straightforward base for exploring the area without needing to travel far.

Yes, the hotel is looking very tired. You can tell that in it's heyday it would've been incredible. However, the staff were amazing and we felt very welcome. Becky the duty manager was great, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was lovely, and there was plenty of it. Right by the beach and round the corner from the main town. I honestly loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone

Great budget option for a single room/solo traveller - haven't had a physical key to a room in years! On the sea-front and quick walk from bus/train station. Would be good for coastal path walkers. Hotel was looking a bit tired in places, but to be expected with age of property and grade of hotel and it looks like a schedule of decorating is in progress. The corridors are a little narrow so need to be mindful with luggage/rucksacks when passing. Staff were friendly and ran an efficient breakfast service with the standard basic options. Room was clean & bed comfortable. The sea-view from room was unexpected although would have been better before the Vue cinema was built 🤣. Great little base for exploring Paignton and the wider Torbay area. Lots of evening dining options/pubs within a short walk

The building, decor and some of the furniture can best be described as "tired", some might think exhausted? BUT the welcome is warm and welcome. The heating is pleasantly effective, storage, electric sockets are ample: the en suite is fine with plenty of (really) hot water. Car parking and a lift - essential for my arthritis- right on the sea front and catering for all of my needs at a budget. If you want state of the art then go to the new 'uns down the road. I'd happily come back here again.
