Losehill Caravan Club Site sits on the edge of Castleton in the Hope Valley, where White Peak limestone meets Dark Peak gritstone. That boundary explains the dramatic variety: Mam Tor and the Great Ridge rise directly northwest, Winnats Pass cuts through the limestone just up the road, and four show caverns—including Treak Cliff, the world's only working Blue John mine—are all within walking distance.
The site's 81 hardstanding pitches are a significant advantage in a valley that collects rain off the surrounding moors, keeping it usable year-round. All pitches come with electric hook-up, and facilities include showers, laundry, an on-site shop, LPG, and a children's play area. Dogs are welcome. Prices run from roughly £15–£16 per night with hook-up, plus charges per extra adult and child; awnings are included at no extra cost.
It's aimed squarely at caravans and motorhomes rather than tents. Castleton village is two minutes' walk, with pubs, cafes and the Blue John shops, while Hope station is a couple of miles down the valley for trains to Sheffield and Manchester. Book well ahead for summer and the popular Christmas lights period.

A nice site very clean and tidy with excellent staff. The Toilets and showers were very clean and in very good order. Site was easy to find as well signed posted at the entrance. It's just outside of Castleton which is a very nice town/village with an easy walk to reach it all on pavements, so no need to drive and find parking. There is a good number of pubs all of which appeared to be doing food and cafes to choose from. There is many walks from Castleton some easy some not so, all in lovely countryside. Plus of course the old castle.

A first visit for us but definitely won’t be our last. Overall a peaceful and quiet site. Loved our large spacious pitch. A little bit of road noise as just off the main A road into Castleton and there was music from the YHA from behind us till 11pm on the Saturday night but that was the only noise in the 7 nights we stayed. Friendly wardens and the site is very well kept with pretty planters by reception. Great facilities and clean toilet block. Short walk into Castleton with lots of pubs and cafes. Can highly recommend The George Inn for food with lovely outdoor seating round the back. We walked into Hope which has a couple of tea rooms. Can recommend The Curry Cabin for fab food and service. No alcohol licence so you can bring your own. We definitely did our bit in supporting the local economy 😊Lovely walks from the site for our two dogs but we were a bit restricted to how far we could go with them due to a lot of stiles which our large 10 month old puppy wouldn’t have got over. All in all a great week with good weather for most of it. Actually preferred this site to Chatsworth

Awesome! The staff. Absolutely fantastic. The friendliest I’ve met! Thank you! You made us feel so welcome, especially my 9 year old son! Everything is just great. Spotless facilities, games room, pizza and chippy vans, minutes into Castleton. And the staff, the best!

This campsite is honestly amazing. A drying room for towels is such an amazing idea, plus lovely designed games room too. The toilets are super clean, with lovely hot water. Plus on a Monday, Alfie's pizza is to die for. Centred in between two lovely public footpaths that take you directly to lose hill and mam tor. Will definitely come again.
