Tucked onto a working beef and sheep farm in Pembrokeshire's national park, Coast Path Camping delivers proper rural peace just 200 metres from the Wales Coast Path. Hikers love the direct access to clifftop trails lined with old forts, beacons and spectacular sea views, while families appreciate the neighbouring Lindsway beach – a sheltered cove where the Queen and a young Prince Charles once picnicked in the 1950s.
The site keeps things simple with well-maintained loos and showers, and welcomes well-behaved dogs (though they'll need to stay on leads around the livestock). It's half a mile from Saint Ishmael's village, where The Brook Inn serves decent pub meals, and the Dale Peninsula's string of coastal hamlets are all within easy reach. With climbing, fishing and sailing spots nearby, plus a handful of pitches keeping the atmosphere relaxed, this is an honest, unpretentious base for exploring West Wales at your own pace.

Truly stunning place The view (weather permitting) is overwhelmingly beautiful. We were here in early June. When we arrived, it was typical Welsh weather: foggy and drizzly. The view is limited to 500 meters. However, when we woke up the next morning and opened the doors of the Pipo wagon, we saw the ocean, the sheep, and the sunshine. We heard the surf and birds. The wagons themselves are basic. A fairly small but comfortable bed. A small table and two chairs. Bring your own breakfast; a kettle is provided. The sanitary facilities are also basic but clean. We were prepared and had brought a night mirror bucket so that I didn't have to walk through the wet grass in the dark to the toilet. Furthermore, there is access to the Coastal Path. And you can take a loop via the ruins and the village.
