You enter Ivy Bush Cottage into an open-plan ground floor where the living spaces flow together: a sitting room with a 40" screen and woodburner, dining area, and kitchen with a breakfast zone and doors onto the garden. A second living room with a 50" TV offers more seating; there's a utility room for laundry and a wet room with shower. Upstairs, three bedrooms each have their own ensuite—the main with a king bed and 42" TV, the second with a double and bath, the third with two singles and shower cubicle. One dog stays free. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included; logs for the burner and a welcome pack are provided. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.

The cottage stands in open countryside near New Moat, with an enclosed lawned garden, patio seating and barbecue, plus parking for three cars. Llys-y-Frân Country Park is five minutes away—a reservoir set in woodland and meadow with walking trails, mountain biking, fishing and sailing, plus a children's play area and café. The Preseli Hills are equally close, offering routes to Foel Cwmcerwyn, the county's highest point, with views across Newport Beach to the north and down the coast towards Tenby and Saundersfoot. No smoking indoors.

We stayed in Maggies cottage which was cosy and comfortable had most things we needed. The hot water system and shower worked very well. A Tumble drier would have been extremely useful especially as the weather was so wet. The quality of the mattress was average, the duvets and pillows all smelt damp as if they had not been dried thoroughly before the beds were made up. The table/chairs had to be put up and down every time we wanted a meal as no space otherwise. Dated furnishings but comfortable. The hostess was helpful and kind and sorted out the television which wasn’t fully working by getting in an engineer. You have to open and close 2 gates each time you leave and arrive which seemed excessive, one should have been ok. We were 4 and a baby but for 6 I feel it would have been rather cramped. Handy location but you need a car and there was some noise from the road.

Very well kept and a quiet area too. The main road that runs behind the rise and hedge is barely even noticeable. You can't see it or hear it. It is well situated. It takes about 15 minutes to get to Saunders foot and 20 to get to heatherton etc. There's also a garden area where you can play games with the kids.

The accommodation is top notch. It's comfortable and homely all rolled into one. The family and stayed a week and felt right at home from the very start. The nearby A road is the only aspect of our stay that took away from that retreat atmosphere some might be looking for. We balanced that with the convenience of being able to get to nearby places quite easily and it was was not that big of an issue. Would definitely recommend this place.

We stayed in one of these cottages in the summer of 2014. We had a lovely stay here. The cottage is a barn conversion; the standard of which is very high. My only complaint was the traffic noise from the adjacent road, but it was not overly intrusive and should not dissuade others from staying in this lovely place.
