The Boathouse sits on the ground and first floors of a cottage in Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire, designed to make the most of its coastal setting. Downstairs are two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed, the other with a bunk and single—plus a bathroom with bath and shower. The living spaces occupy the upper floor: an open-plan arrangement with kitchen, dining table for six, living room with woodburner and smart TV, all oriented toward a large picture window. On high tide, you can see the sea from it. The beach is a thirty-second walk away.
The kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. Heating throughout is electric, with underfloor warmth in the hallway and bathroom. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and an initial load of wood for the burner are included. A highchair and stairgate are available, and there is parking for one car on site. The property is non-smoking.
Saundersfoot village offers pubs, cafes and shops within easy reach. The beach itself is the main draw—suitable for swimming, walking, and water sports. Families with young children will find the proximity to sand and sea hard to beat.

What guests say
We visited The Boathouse in Saundersfoot this evening and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After ordering our drinks, the waitress brought them over on a tray and placed the full tray on the very edge of our table. We warned her that it looked top-heavy and could tip as the drinks were being removed. Sadly, that's exactly what happened. Four full drinks toppled over and completely soaked our 5-year-old son, leaving him absolutely drenched. He was understandably screaming and very distressed. The most upsetting part wasn't the accident itself—it was the complete lack of care afterwards. The waitress simply walked away while our son was crying. She returned about a minute later with some blue roll, but there wasn't a single apology or any acknowledgement of what had happened. No member of staff checked if he was okay, offered to help, or showed any concern at all. We eventually managed to calm him down ourselves, tried our best to dry his clothes, and even had to go across the road to buy a towel for him to sit on. He then had to spend the rest of the meal in soaking wet clothes, while staff carried on as though nothing had happened. Accidents can happen, and we completely understand that. What is much harder to accept is the total lack of empathy, care, and customer service afterwards. A sincere apology and a genuine check to see if our son was okay would have made a huge difference. I didn't raise it with the staff at the time because I didn't want to spoil the evening for the rest of my family, but on reflection I feel people should know about our experience. Sadly, based on the way this situation was handled, I cannot recommend The Boathouse, particularly to families with young children. I have nownseen thier reply which is a complete lie. As my daughter was not sitting on the corner with my son she was sitting directly opposite me and to make it more or a farse she was actually at the toilet with my wife at the time. My mother was sitting on the other corner who advised the waitress about the top heavy drinks. My son had no part to play in this apart from being soaked through. Shame on you for lying and as always never taking responsibility for your actions. The poor 5yr old was drenched and all you can do is lie try to blame him and then lie more about seating arrangements.

The food was excellent and yes there was a 30 - 40 minute wait, but the restaurant was busy and when we received the food it was freshly cooked and delicious. Service was fantastic, and given it was coming to the end of an extremely hot day, all the staff who dealt with us were helpful and a credit to the restaurant. We will revisit in the future and would highly recommend for others to try.

Walked in without a booking, midweek early june. Staff really polite and helpful. Said i was coeliac, they immediately got a gluten free menu for me. We were seated in a hut shaped pergola booth in the restaurant. Lovely and airy, nice soothing decor with ship wheels and wooden beams. Food was delicious. Large portions, had to ask for a to-go box, no room for pudding, glad we didn't have a starter! Fully licensed bar as well. Just a few hundred yards from the beach and harbour. Excellent location, would definitely return.
