Waltham Cottage is a fully equipped retreat for two people or a small family, set in historic Fishguard with everything needed for self-catering. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are all provided. The cottage dates from the late 1700s and has been thoughtfully restored, blending original stone walls with mid-century furnishings and a rotating collection of artwork by the owner and local artists that changes seasonally. The result is a home with genuine character rather than standard holiday decoration.
Inside, two separate living rooms let you choose between contemporary or traditionally cosy spaces depending on your mood. There is a dining room, a kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals, and two double bedrooms. The bathroom has both a bath with shower and a separate cloakroom. A completely private raised terrace garden provides outdoor space to sit with a view or shelter from the weather. The cottage is non-smoking throughout.
Fishguard's location makes it an obvious base for the Pembrokeshire coast. Marine Walk runs along the Irish Sea within a five-minute walk, and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is close enough to access easily for longer excursions towards St Davids or to discover harbours, beaches and sea cliffs. The town itself has historic links to the Last Invasion of Britain in 1797. Please note the cottage does not accept children under 11.
