Higher Pentreath Farm Camp Site

We visited early in the season, so the campsite was almost empty, which meant we had a fantastic pitch with a full view of the beach right from the tent. The location is genuinely amazing — only an 8‑minute walk to a stunning beach with a bar and restaurant. There’s also a Coop just a 3‑minute drive away that stocks everything you might need, including firewood. As for the facilities, I’m not expecting luxury when camping, and I’ve stayed at places with more basic setups. As long as toilets and showers are clean, I’m happy. Unfortunately, despite the campsite being empty, there was feces smeared on the side of one of the toilets. At first glance the toilets look okay, but once you look properly, the lack of deep cleaning really shows. The washing‑up area, however, was clean. There’s no phone signal, but the WiFi worked well enough. There are also two additional fields that I assume open in summer — but with only two toilets and two showers, I imagine there would be long waits when the site is busy. I would return for the location alone, because it’s truly special. But the condition of the toilets really let the place down, and that’s the only thing that would make me hesitate about coming back.

Had a great adventure here. Perfectly situated to walk straight down to Praa sands. We had BBQs and beautiful views. The only downside is that the mens facilities only has two toilets so can get quite busy in the morning!

Just got back from a 5-night stay at Higher Penreath Campsite on the electric field and had a really lovely time. The sea view from our pitch was absolutely stunning – probably the best I’ve had at any campsite. Definitely glad we paid a bit extra for the electric pitch; it made things more comfortable, plus we were closer to the facilities and got those amazing views from our tent. We were really lucky during our stay – there were only ever a maximum of 5 groups on the electric field, and that was just on our first night. For the rest of the stay, we had no one pitched either side of us, which made a huge difference. It’s a fairly small field, and when it’s full, I can imagine it can feel quite cramped and a bit claustrophobic. There’s really no way to keep a proper 6m gap between pitches, so we were very glad to have the space and peace. Our field also seemed to be the quietest out of the three, which was a big bonus. The toilets and showers were clean throughout our stay, aside from a few cobwebs here and there, which is pretty normal for a campsite. Loved that the showers were proper electric ones, not the usual push-button type. My boyfriend mentioned there are only two showers in the men’s block and that one’s a lot better than the other, but it didn’t seem to cause any real problems. Overall, a great stay and would definitely go back. The views really do make it special.

The toilets were cold and dirty the shower was bad no water pressure not great places to go im quite easy going but this place was expensive and and not great to be honest the pitch was on to much of a slope we booked Easter weekend and only stayed 1 night sorry but there are a lot better places and at a lot lower cost
