The Stable is a converted cottage on the Ardblair Castle estate near Blairgowrie, sleeping six across three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Everything needed for self-catering is here: a kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer; heating, electricity, Wi-Fi and linen all covered; a sitting area with garden furniture overlooking fields where Highland cattle graze. Two cars can park on site, and there's an electric charging point available by arrangement.

The ground floor holds a living and dining room with Freeview TV, a kitchen, and a shower room. Upstairs are three bedrooms—one with zip-and-link beds that convert to a super king or stay as singles, the others configured the same way—plus a bathroom with a full bath and shower. A travel cot and highchair are provided. The cottage sits on the outskirts of Blairgowrie, a market town with shops, restaurants and a pub within a mile, yet surrounded by countryside quieter than the town centre.

Blairgowrie is well placed for outdoor pursuits: Glenshee ski centre is nearby, Rosemount golf course lies within the town, and walking, fishing and cycling are all accessible from here. Meiklour's famous hedge, Glamis Castle, Scone Palace and Loch of the Lowes are within reasonable reach. No smoking.

Stayed at the stables here for a week, lovely and cosey with a thoughtful host. However the castle itself is a private home and not for the public so please don't turn up expecting to get a tour.

A lovely cottage, in beautiful surroundings. Gill, the owner is lovely to deal with. Highly recommended!
