About Saplinbrae Hotel and Lodges

Golf is the main draw around Saplinbrae Hotel and Lodges, with Trump International Golf Links within reach for a day on the fairways, while the wider Aberdeenshire countryside offers fishing, cycling and walking routes, plus horse riding and entertainment nearby for those wanting more than a round of golf. Pubs, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area make it easy to extend a day out into an evening.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and many have log burners that give them a cosy feel alongside their comfortable furnishings. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available, and guests can expect drinks in the room along with the usual practical extras like free WiFi and room service.

The restaurant and bar are a strong point, with dinner and breakfast built around local produce, and a snack bar, packed lunches and kids' meals covering everything in between. There's also a spa and sauna on-site, a garden and picnic area for time outdoors, and free on-site parking. Staff are consistently helpful and professional, rounding off a stay geared towards both golfers and those simply after a comfortable Aberdeenshire base. Pets are welcome too.

Gone here for large party meal - good points & bad points. Servers were great, could not fault the servers they did there job as should Food- well the curry tasted more like chicken stalk, the sticky toffee pudding was the exact ones you get from farm foods in a packet, it was small and burnt, kids meals again poor out of 7 children only 3 ate their food. Room was hot with no ac or music.

By far the coziest, kindest, and frankly the best hotel I’ve been to in Scotland. There’s something special about the combination of the beautiful location (with lovely walks from the doorstep), history (both the hotel itself and nearby at Deer Abbey), food (maybe some of the best food I’ve ever had), and service, which makes this the place I recommend time and time again. I always love coming back, and I’ve never been disappointed. Keep up the great work!

It started with a call from the hotel the day we were due to travel. After all the snow and now flooding they wanted to check we could safely get there. Rather wonderfully they also wanted to offer us an upgrade - a very much appreciated offer on a quite Monday in rural Aberdeenshire. I don't know why more places don't do this. The room was stunning with Clipper teas, lovely colours and art work. Beautiful shower and a nice view. The bed was stunning and the sheets amazing. We had dinner, such great food - the best beef brisket I have had in 30 years. Followed by a very quiet and peaceful sleep. The breakfast was one I won't ever forget - Haddock, poached eggs and black pudding. Out of this world. The people taking care of us had a gentle homeliness and took care of all the important details wonderfully. A gem of a place in Aberdeenshire - if you are ever out this way don't hesitate to stay.
