About Porlock Weir Campsite
Tucked between Exmoor's wooded slopes and the shingle beach at Porlock Weir, this National Trust campsite occupies one of Somerset's loveliest coastal corners. The setting is genuinely special – wake to views across the Bristol Channel, with red deer sometimes visible on the hillsides above and excellent walking trails fanning out in all directions. Pitches are straightforward grass affairs starting around £19 a night, and facilities are kept simple but clean.
The site can feel a bit tired in places, and don't expect luxury – this is very much traditional camping rather than glamping. But for exploring Exmoor's ancient oak woods, tackling sections of the South West Coast Path, or simply watching the light change over the water from your tent door, it's hard to beat the location.

Beautiful little campsite in a stunning, peaceful location. Well-spaced pitches meant we felt like we had this secret valley all to ourselves, save for the glimpses of campfires we could see through the trees. The lovely owner was quick to respond to our request for a last minute booking and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We even saw wild ponies!

Amazing camping spot Roads are steep, tight, and winding to get to it but you're properly in nature. No road sounds, no light pollution, and no signal. Completely disconnected and perfectly enveloped by nature The stream that runs through is beautiful and incredibly relaxing Owner was attentive and friendly, and facilities were stocked and clean Absolutely will recommend

This is the best campsite I have been to!! It took me 6 hours to get there but well worth it. Facilities are clean and plenty, logs for fire available on site with set out fire space. Local farmer sausages and bacon available to buy. Best of all, a nice quiet space by the stream....... So relaxing and peaceful

This gets my 5 star rating based on the delight of discovering what is a rare gem these days in way of adventure and nature . Don’t go if you want internet and piped music in the loos as you’ll be disappointed. There’s every thing you’ll need here and I applaud what the owners have lovingly created. My wife likes the next comfort level but came around to the rustic charms of this treasure.
