Pets are genuinely welcome here, which makes it a sensible choice for anyone travelling with a dog rather than an afterthought. Free parking is provided on-site for two medium-sized cars in a shared driveway at the rear; anyone with additional vehicles will need to use Porlock Central Car Park nearby, where a weekly permit can be bought for £25.

Porlock itself sits within easy reach of Exmoor National Park, and the surrounding area offers walking and cycling routes, fishing, horse riding and watersports for those wanting to get outdoors. Back in the village there are pubs, restaurants and other eateries close by, along with local entertainment, making The Dog House a practical spot for exploring this stretch of Somerset.
