About Loch Eyre House
Looking out over Loch Eyre on the edge of Portree, Loch Eyre House sits amid the quiet coastal countryside of Skye, with water and garden views forming the backdrop to a stay here. The setting is calm and rural, yet Portree itself and the surrounding area, including The Aird at Annishader, are within easy reach.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and family rooms are available for those travelling in a group. A garden with outdoor seating gives guests a place to sit and take in the sea views, and breakfast is served each morning. Free WiFi runs throughout, drinks can be brought to the room, and reception is staffed around the clock. Free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward.
For food and drink beyond the guest house, nearby pubs, bars and restaurants offer further options, and there is entertainment to be found in the area too. It's a good base for exploring Portree and the loch-side countryside around it.

What guests say
This place has a lovely setting & the rooms are well appointed but small. ( had to use car for luggage). However, in all other ways it was a real disappointment. It is supposed to be B&B, but there was no breakfast. It was a take out, which was totally inadequate. The pastry was stale & the cereal bars extremely hard. The fresh fruit was meagre. The place is in the middle of nowhere so no where else to turn to for breakfast. Rooms were not serviced & we had to ask for clean mugs/glasses whenever. Very very disappointed. It has much potential because of location. OK for 1 night stopovers.

Good location and room was clean. We booked this place a few months back under the impression that breakfast was offered, based on their booking.com listing and all the reviews. When we arrived, a letter we received as part of our self checkin stated that a cooked breakfast was not provided, instead there would be a variety of fruit and pastries. The first morning, we learned that this was a brown takeaway bag of store bought croissants, granola bars, fruit and juice boxes. There was no cutlery in the dining area so it was not an easy option to buy your own breakfast or other take away to eat at the hotel. We saw 1 staff infrequently and they were not particularly welcoming. We found the value for the price wasn't there. We would not recommend this place.

Lovely guest house. The view is stunning (despite all the rain we experienced) and the staff were very friendly. The house itself is well equipped. It feeling you get is a very warm and homely sort of feeling. Would definitely recommend to anyone who would like to stay in the area. The high ratings tells you everything you need to know!

Loved my stay here — easily the best stop of my whole UK trip! The view was amazing, the room was super comfy and spotless, and the home-cooked breakfast was such a nice touch. Would totally stay again, highly recommend!
