We stayed at this hotel for nine nights. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Unfortunately, the housekeeping service was disappointing. One day, our room was not cleaned at all. When we asked for clean towels at reception, we were told that the housekeeping staff had already left and had forgotten to clean our room. On another day, we returned to find our room door left open after housekeeping had been there. Anyone could have entered and stolen our belongings, which was very concerning. We also ran out of shower gel. We left the empty bottle in plain sight on the used towels, but it was not replaced. Once again, we had to ask reception for a new one. In addition, the room was not vacuumed properly. This is a real shame because the reception staff are kind and helpful, but the poor housekeeping significantly affected our stay. With better organization and more attention to cleanliness, this hotel could provide a much better guest experience.

We had a fantastic stay and couldn’t fault it, especially for the price we paid. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and the harbour, making it perfect for exploring the area. The breakfast was a definite highlight – easily 10/10 with a great selection and excellent quality. The staff were all friendly, welcoming, and couldn’t do enough to help, which really made a difference. Parking was also excellent value at just £6 for 24 hours using the discount provided by the hotel. Overall, this was a brilliant experience and outstanding value for money. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable hotel.

I book with Holiday Inn as it generally makes for a good base with the family - if I'm honest, whilst my recent visit wasn't bad, it was probably my least favourite so far... We arrived fine, and it was easy to find. Parking is chargable, which I was aware of on booking, and Holiday inn give you a discount for the period you are staying. Only one terminal to input this though, and its one of those touch screens where you are only 75% likely to have selected the right button! If you are asking for emailed receipt then it pops this on screen quite large for all those round you to see, which I also wasn't keen on! Rest of check in was fine, nothing special to highlight but also nothing terrible. Room was fine and pretty much as expected. It was a family room so kids were sharing a pull out sofa bed type thing. I visited reception as we was short of a towel and also had no extra pillows. Got the extra towel but was told that because hotel was full they would 'see what they can do' and not lilely to have extra pillows. (No extra pillows came - did think it was odd that a hotwl wouldn't have extra pillows!). Fortunatly my wife had a bit better luck on second day and extra pillows came (of which I was very grateful!!) Breakfast was fine, and the staff working were really earning their money! I did find the layout a bit rubbish though, they have a breakfast bar type thing in the way, and more awkward if someone actually sat at it! Toasters were actual toasters, so only 8 slices on the go at any one time - and didnt always actually toast... we found the cooked options generally pretty good. As mentioned, not a bad hotel - but certainly not my first choice in holiday inns, hence the 'its OK' rating.

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, and one thing that really makes the difference is the people working there. During my stay here, the team genuinely stood out. From the moment I arrived, Nina and Ethan on reception were welcoming, helpful and always happy to have a chat. Hallie and Erin were also great whenever I needed anything, and it’s clear the reception team put effort into making guests feel looked after rather than just processing check-ins and requests. Caz, the manager, deserves a mention too. You can tell when a hotel has a good atmosphere, and that usually comes from the leadership behind the scenes. The team seemed comfortable and happy, which says a lot. Leah and Ana at the bar were brilliant, friendly, approachable and great at creating that relaxed atmosphere where you feel more like a regular than just another guest passing through. They made the evenings much more enjoyable. Danny and Yak on the night team were also excellent. Night shifts can often go unnoticed, but they were both friendly, professional and always approachable. Maddison at breakfast was another person who helped make the stay a positive experience. Starting the day with a friendly face makes more of a difference than people realise. Overall, the hotel itself was good, but the staff are what really made the experience memorable. Everyone I met was welcoming, genuine and a credit to the hotel. It’s rare to stay somewhere for a short period and leave knowing so many staff members by name, but that says a lot about the atmosphere they create. Thank you to the whole team for making my stay a great one.
