About ibis budget Portsmouth

Fratton Way sits within easy reach of Portsmouth's waterfront and city attractions, and it's here that ibis budget Portsmouth offers straightforward, affordable accommodation across its five floors. With watersports, pubs, bars and restaurants all nearby, it makes a practical base for exploring the area without the higher price tag of the city centre hotels.

The 120 rooms are compact but en-suite, kept clean and functional, with reliable showers rather than any frills. A lift serves all floors, and accessible rooms are available. Breakfast is served each morning and is generally regarded as good value, while an electric vehicle charge point and free on-site parking add convenience, though parking spaces can be limited at busier times.

Staff are attentive and quick to help with local recommendations or practical requests. Pets are welcome, and luggage storage is available for those fitting in a day of sightseeing before or after checkout. It's a no-nonsense option for travellers who want a comfortable bed, a decent breakfast and easy access to Portsmouth's transport links and coastline.

I like where is it cause u have a few supermarket and food places close, the train station too, even tho is not close to the center. The room for a couple is quite comfy a bit small but comfy. The things I didn’t like was that there’s only to plugs in all the room and the shower is very tall, u can’t move it and the pressure of the water is not enough to wash ur here if ur a bit short or have long hair.

The lady that checked us in was awesome. She made us aware of a local, dog friendly pub nearby. We had a great night in that pub with our little dog and was welcomed by all. Bad hangover in the morning though. Breakfast was a bit poor, no boiled eggs, would have been nice but, I guess I should have known, what with it being a budget hotel. Toilet took ages to fill up after one person had been and, the floor lining had come away from the wall in the toilet. Other than that, all was in order. Would definitely stay again but without paying for breakfast next time.

Very close to fratton park and parking available. Rooms are basic but comfortable. Located within short distance from shops. The lift wasn't working which was only found out on arrival, may have been an idea to inform guests before in case they needed to change hotels

As a resident of Vista flats, located right next to Ibis Fratton, I feel compelled to share my ongoing negative experience with the hotel’s parking management and staff behaviour. Hotel guests frequently park in residential spaces that clearly do not belong to them, including vista flat's parking spot. This appears to be due to a lack of proper guidance from the hotel to its guests. It has become a repeated issue and a significant inconvenience for those of us living nearby. In the past, the reception team had been somewhat helpful and occasionally allowed residents to use nearby hotel-designated spaces when such situations occurred. However, my most recent experience was extremely disappointing. At around 23:45 one evening, I returned home to find my parking space occupied yet again. When I politely approached the reception for assistance, the staff member on duty (Ubaid) was unprofessional, dismissive, and unwilling to help. He refused to offer any solution, declined to provide contact details for management, and showed no concern for the situation. This lack of basic customer service and disregard for the local community is very disappointing—especially given that I have personally stayed at this hotel before and recommended it to others. Ibis Fratton seriously needs to: Better manage guest parking and clearly communicate restrictions Ensure staff are trained to handle such situations professionally Show consideration for residents living nearby Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend this hotel.
