The lodge sleeps six across two double bedrooms, with a ground-floor living space that opens onto a patio. One bathroom serves the property. Everything needed for self-catering is here: a fully equipped kitchen, woodburner in the main room, and hot tub for six that works year-round under cover. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are included, along with the initial fuel for the fire. If you're travelling with young children, the owners provide a travel cot, highchair and safety gates.

The track to the property is rough and steep—low-slung cars may struggle, though owners manage it daily in a Corsa. Once there, you're private and quiet, with an enclosed garden and space for two cars. One dog is welcome free of charge. The location suits walkers: Offa's Dyke trail runs nearby, and there are marked routes from the door itself. Kington is four miles away for cafés and shops, while Hay-on-Wye, famous for its bookshops and festival, lies thirteen miles further. Hergest Croft Gardens and a hilltop golf course are also within reach. The natural water supply comes via borehole; there is no smoking in the lodge.
