The living spaces in Pippins are on the upper floor, a deliberate choice that lets you watch the Ithon Valley and surrounding hills from the open-plan kitchen and sitting room. Below are two bedrooms—one with an en-suite shower, one with twin singles—plus a second shower room. The property was converted from a granary in 1999 and stands within 14 acres of pastureland, with Cefnllys Castle ruins visible across the landscape. You have use of your own enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue, and the owners' wider grounds are available to explore.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering: electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and a washer-dryer. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. Parking for three cars is on-site. The property suits walkers and those looking for quiet countryside; a public right of way descends from the garden to Cefnllys Church on the river, and the Bailey Einon Nature Reserve lies beyond the Shaky Bridge. Red kites and buzzards frequent the area. Penybont village is 2½ miles away. One pet is welcome. The property is non-smoking throughout.

We had a great week at the Pippins, it was very hot weather but the cottage kept comfortably cool. We were made to feel very welcome by the Vikki and Gill and we felt it was a true home from home. A very quiet and peaceful setting.

I used to stay on this farm as a kid, my last visit was 40 years ago so this was a bit of a homecoming. Wow, the scenery and setting was just as beautiful as I remembered. I remember pippins as the stables and tack room. Now it is a luxurious yet homely cottage. With every small detail thought of Vicki and her family are super nice. We will return.

I can highly recommend a stay at Pippins. The cottage is located in the most beautiful surroundings and we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather during our 4-day stay. Just sitting in the garden and enjoying the wide view, watching the lambs and having a bbq every night was so relaxing. We walked from Pippins into Llandrindod Wells, and the Elan Valley is only a short drive away with the hike around the reservoir a must. The owners are super friendly and always at hand when needed. The accommodation is spacious and has everything needed for a very comfortable stay. The beds are also extremely comfortable. We are already planning our next stay!

We have just had two great days at Pippins. The house was extremely clean and warm and well equipped. The welcome was fulsome with some delightful touches in the welcome pack - home laid eggs and a packet of Welsh cakes as well as a bottle of sparkling drink! It is in a beautiful part of the world and proved to be an ideal place from which to start our explorations. Thank you very much Vikki and Gill for making us so welcome.
