I recently visited Vue Cinema Thurrock to watch Scary Movie. Upon arriving and entering the screen viewing room, I immediately noticed that the cinema felt very dated and in need of refurbishment. Despite my first impression, I was still looking forward to enjoying the film. My boyfriend had paid extra for the VIP seats, but they were extremely disappointing. The seats were upholstered in a fabric material that did not appear easy to clean and, unlike many other premium cinema seats, they did not recline. This did not reflect the standard I would expect from a VIP experience. We arrived while the adverts were still playing. Shortly after taking my seat, an insect crawled onto my arm. I was shocked and extremely uncomfortable, but I tried to stay and enjoy the film. A few moments later, another insect crawled onto my dress. At that point, I became extremely anxious. As the adverts were about to end and the lights were about to dim for the film to begin, I was genuinely scared that if I stayed, there could be more insects crawling around that I simply wouldn’t be able to see in the dark. I no longer felt comfortable remaining in my seat. I asked to speak with the manager, explained what had happened, and the matter was handled professionally. The manager refunded our tickets, which I appreciated. However, this was one of the worst cinema experiences I have had. I hope the cinema thoroughly investigates the issue and carries out any necessary cleaning or pest control so that other customers do not have a similar experience.

I generally don't leave bad reviews, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all...however, constructive criticism if you will. We paid around £40 for VIP seat tickets, drinks and snacks to watch a film tonight...firstly, there are about 10 people behind the counter but only 1 serving....then to get to our seat to find the VIP seat was covered in Popcorn and the floor was covered in BBQ sauce, a fair bit of it, which as you can imagine smelt rank... I requested someone clear it up and nobody did....we moved seats to watch without that smell but feel for the people sitting around it...when you pay a fair bit to watch a film, the least you could do is make sure its clean...Rant over, but serious question: have our standards slipped so much that nobody gives a shit about anything to do with customer service anymore? Is it too much to have a little pride in doing a good job, it might make a little kids experience of cinema a bit better, it might mean a little old lady gets a nice break with her friend without having to sit in rubbish....

If I could give this zero stars I would. By far the worse VUE I’ve ever been too. Some sort of sauce smeared on the floor on VIP seats. Complained and asked someone to clean up. No one ever came. Had to move seats, there was popcorn on every single seat. Disgusting & dirty.

My mum booked online to see Reminders of Him film. She queued up when we arrived to get herself a snack and the man serving us took his time, he kept getting distracted so not his fault. When we went to our seats the arm rest on our chair had been taken off and was on one of the chairs that we were about to sit on we placed it back on top properly and it was fine during the film so not really a complaint just something to be mindful off... general wear and tear. Mum enjoyed her snack box and I enjoyed the film. 🩷
