The North Yorkshire coast around Staithes draws walkers and artists, with rugged cliffs, fishing villages and a sprawl of moorland behind. Blackgill Lodge sits on a hillside above this landscape, a renovated 18th-century stone cottage reached by a private track. It's yours alone—just you, and one dog if you're bringing one along.
The property works as a two-person base. Downstairs is an open-plan living and dining space with a kitchen equipped for proper cooking; patio doors open to a balcony overlooking the countryside towards the sea. Upstairs, a galleried double bedroom connects to an ensuite with a roll-top bath and separate shower. Heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. The owners live adjacent and share access to a lawned garden, summerhouse and chiminea if you want to use them.
Staithes itself—the nearby self-catering cottages and harbour—is walkable. The rough track approach means it's not suitable for young children. Pets stay for a fee; dog-sitting can be arranged if you want an evening out.
