This stone cottage began life as a fisherman's shelter, then fell into disrepair before being fully restored. What makes it distinctive is what's been preserved in the process—a reclaimed ship's mast now forms the mantelpiece above the wood burner, and an ancient well sits under the hallway's glass floor, a reminder of the building's working past. The cottage sits steps from the coast; from the living room's bay windows you can watch the sea across the bay.
The ground floor is tiered across three levels. The living room, with its wood burner, occupies the front; the kitchen and dining space sit in the middle; and two bedrooms plus a shower room are accessed up a step. One bedroom has a zip-and-link bed that converts to twin singles, the other a double. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are provided, plus logs for the stove. A private hot tub sits in the enclosed back garden, with parking for one car and bike storage alongside.
The cottage suits couples, small families or friends travelling together, and allows one well-behaved pet at no extra cost. No smoking indoors.
