A stream runs past Stoney Cottage, a nineteenth-century sandstone building on the edge of Loftus village. The North York Moors lie inland; coastal villages and bays stretch along the Yorkshire shore. The cottage is yours alone, sleeping four across two bedrooms with a bathroom upstairs and a living room and kitchen on the ground floor.
The living room centres on an electric woodburner with a substantial beam above the hearth, flanked by sofas and armchairs; the TV and sound system are built into a wooden unit. Upstairs, one bedroom has a double bed and the other has two singles; both have their own television and quality mattresses. The kitchen doubles as a dining space, with a range of appliances including an oven, induction hob, dishwasher and coffee machine, plus an island and a handmade bench at the table beneath a beamed ceiling. The bathroom offers a bath and a separate shower cubicle. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are covered; there's parking for two cars outside. No smoking.
Loftus itself has a shop, bakery and café. The cottage suits families or groups looking for a coastal or moorland break within reach of both.
