Saltburn-by-the-Sea sits on the Yorkshire coast between the moors and the sea, and The Granary makes an ideal base for exploring both. This barn conversion stands in countryside near Lingdale, roughly four miles from the Victorian seaside town itself and within reach of clifftop villages like Staithes. The property sits on open fields, useful for dog walking and for reaching the walking paths that crisscross the area.
Ground floor has an open-plan living space with a kitchen that covers cooking properly—electric oven and hob, microwave, slow cooker, fridge and freezer. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one double bed and one with two singles. There is a family bathroom with a bath and shower. A cot and highchair are available. Ground-source heat pump underfloor heating keeps things warm; wi-fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The rear garden has a patio, furniture and a barbecue, with an enclosed playing field on site.
Private parking fits three cars, and there is an electric vehicle charging point available. One pet stays free. The property is non-smoking. The North York Moors National Park lies a few miles inland; coastal walks to Runswick Bay, Whitby and Sandsend are all within easy reach.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage with our 2 dogs. The cottage was clean and had all equipment needed to eat in if that Was our intention. The furniture is a little dated but it works well when bringing well behaved dogs. The fields are fabulous for letting the dogs off especially early mornings and night time before bed. Our gate on the rear patio needed securing for the dogs and it would have been wonderful to have had a bbq facility to have sat and enjoyed the sunshine at the barn. In all however we had a lovely stay and I would highly recommend the cottage for anyone with dogs wanting to explore the area and its beaches. Thank you for a wonderful break. 🌸

4 night stay at 'Cow Byre Cottage' late February 2026, our 5th stay at the Cottages. Again, all rooms clean. Excellent accommodation, dog friendly with back enclosed patio area and big dog field. Good bus service to Saltburn with stop at end of drive, saves parking. Good fish and chips nearby plus pub and local corner shop. Sandra and Bill friendly and helpful as usual. We will be back.

Very clean and well thought out accommodation. Easy to get to places of interest with Saltburn beach just 10min away. You can take your dogs with you to accomodation with large field for them to run around in.
