About Little Oak Campsite

Little Oak Campsite occupies a quiet corner of north Nottinghamshire, just outside Retford, where simplicity and a genuinely warm welcome define the experience. Seventeen non-electric grass pitches spread across the main field and a separate annexe area, with campfires encouraged and dogs welcome year-round. The facilities are deliberately low-key—portable loos, a shower block, and washing-up area—but reviews consistently praise the hosts' friendliness and the peaceful, unpretentious atmosphere.

It's an honest, budget-friendly spot that appeals to Duke of Edinburgh groups, families happy to rough it a little, and anyone seeking a proper back-to-basics break. The terrain can be uneven underfoot after rain, and don't expect polished amenities, but that's rather the point. Retford's pubs and shops are nearby, and you're well-placed for cycling the Chesterfield Canal towpath or exploring Clumber Park. A straightforward, no-frills campsite that does exactly what it says.

Not finished my stay here yet. But upon arriving I dropped my motorbike and Andy the owner gave me a hand picking it up, so the service is as good as it gets Id say! Only person here, beautiful bit of land. Flat and clear grass. Warm showers. Huge fire pit in the middle that Im sure is awesome when its going

Okay so myself and husband went camping in the little oak it eas beautiful but was not happy with the way we where treated. The man we spoke to was not welcoming what so ever, we where the only campers there. It was the customer service that let us down.

A lovely quiet and secluded small campsite nicely situated on the outskirts of Retford. Although a little basic it has all the amenities you need and plenty of space to make your pitch your own.

A great night's stay with a lovely flat field and nice location. 20 minutes walk into the local town which has everything you could need (including several tap rooms selling great beer!)
