Wellington Country Park

Thank you in advance for everything. After a year, I returned to the farm with a new member of the family. We were able to enjoy the entire place, and the food and drinks were delicious—10 out of 10! My son loved seeing all the animals, including the new babies—10 out of 10! I hope you continue like this so I can keep visiting every year and see many changes to enjoy even more. Thank you!

We visited on Easter Sunday, it wasn't extremely busy as I had expected it to be so was great for space, they had an Easter egg trail , circus , story time, animal petting and feeding events. There are several play areas dotted around the lake, a petting farm with alpacas, sheet, goats, pigs, rabbits, couple of birds etc You can buy feed- however they are very well fed so maybe get there first thing 😁 There a splash pad / area which looks to be great for the summer months. Plenty of space to sit and relax, bring a picnic blanket, folding chairs etc if you wish but there are plenty of benches and picnic spots. Food and beverages available and mid-ish range prices ( food could be a bit more cost accessable) BUT the pizza was delicious 🤤. Plenty of ice cream opportunitys. Very clean and well maintained. Circus was a lovely touch. The overall experience was great, very nostalgic having camped here as a child myself, now bringing my own children here. I have a 7 & 9 year old and although loads of space and lots of play areas and things to do, I would say WCP's quote on Thier website 'perfect for children up to 8 years old' is spot on. Of taking older kids, pack a ball or something that can keep them entertained for later on in the day when the 'I'm bored, I've done everything ' starts. The train is a lovely little ride, the staff member on that day was excellent and very engaging, spoke to all the kids and made them part of the experience of the tickets, asking how Thier day has been and offering a high five on exit - she was lovely ( wearing very colourful clothes and a greys big smile) The Easter egg collection after the trail would be where if offer constructive feedback. We went to the door to be told they are having a carrot break ( that confused odr a while until I understood -easter bunny) 5 mins I was told to come back, 25 mins later the door open we get up to go in and we're told they would have a 5 mins carrot break and as we joined the queue for a 3rd time a young girl told us again a carrot break 5 mins.. at this point I felt it took the Michael a bit and said we have been waiting around for an hour to just collect and egg and the door didn't seem to open for anymore that 5 mins before a "5 mins" aka 20+ mins break . We would like to continue with our day with 2 children. The feedback here is timing / planning/ transparency and finally communication... The girl who dealt with me, spoke to me like petulant child, and patronised me so much that several onlookers then approached me afterwards to tell me I did a great job in handling that conversation as they would have cut it short and walked away/left the park. Commucate the breaks, you have great signage already so adding timings should suffice for future pop up events/ seasonal occasions or an alternative collection point ( with out the carrot eating bunny ) on exit 😉

Nice park, full of a bit of everything. Not on the economic side, but the details and size make it worth it. We liked the dinosaur area and the landscape around the lake in particular. I wish they had more food options.

Had a fantastic day today at Wellington Country Park. Went with my daughter and two grandchildren aged 4 and 6. It is a beautiful place, very well kept and clean and has lots and lots of things for children to do. Lots of parks and play areas, water play and splash park, feeding the farm animals and the dinosaurs are great. Spread over a large area so plenty of space for everyone. Loved the train ride and the very friendly train driver. Definitely a great full day out. Thank you
