Hoppers Cottage is a converted hop picker's cottage in Wadhurst, within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Everything is on the ground floor: a double bedroom with ensuite shower, a second bedroom with two single beds, a family bathroom, and an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting room. The wood burner comes with initial logs included, and the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with electric oven, hob, dishwasher, and washer-dryer. Wifi, heating, bed linen and towels are provided.
The cottage sits near Bewl Water, the largest body of water in south-east England. A fenced lake lies 275 yards from the property. The garden has a terrace with furniture, and there is parking for two cars on site. One dog can stay at no extra cost. The location suits families wanting to explore the surrounding footpaths and cycle routes, or to spend time on the water itself – fishing, sailing and windsurfing are all possible. Wadhurst village, with its pubs, restaurants and shops, is two miles away. Notable gardens and historic houses including Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst and Bodiam Castle are within easy driving distance. Brighton and Rye lie further afield but remain accessible for a day trip. No smoking inside the property.

What guests say
Really well appointed although cookware needs replacing updating and it could do with a lamp in the lounge area. It's comfortable, warm and blissfully quiet. If you are looking for somewhere tranquil where you can escape the usual noises of life, it's highly recommended.

Wonderfully appointed and very comfortable holiday let. Would highly recommend a stay - and the Fuggles apple juice (grown by the owners, three varieties) is delicious.
