About The Welcome Inn
For travellers who just need a straightforward base near Rotherham, The Welcome Inn covers the essentials without fuss. It suits people passing through South Yorkshire for a night, families visiting local attractions, or anyone who'd rather spend on the day out than the room. With 52 rooms and free on-site parking, it's built for practical stays rather than lingering ones.
Rooms are simple and functional, with air conditioning and free WiFi included as standard. There's a restaurant and bar on site for meals without needing to head out, plus breakfast available to set guests up for the day. A garden offers a bit of outdoor space, and laundry service and luggage storage are on hand for those breaking up longer journeys. The hotel also has meeting rooms and hosts weddings, making it usable for business trips or small events as well as overnight stays.
Its location on Wortley Road puts it within reach of Clifton Park Museum and the Magna Science Adventure Centre, both handy for a family day out during the stay. It's a fair fit for anyone wanting a convenient, no-nonsense place to sleep in Rotherham rather than a destination in itself.
Guests consistently praise this hotel for its clean and spacious rooms featuring powerful showers, highlighting its excellent value and the friendly, helpful staff who are available 24/7.
Other reviews mention rooms can be neglected and lack basic amenities.
