What guests say
This is an Ideal place to visit for a late lunch after visiting National Trust Scotney Castle. We arrived around 3.30pm on a very hot bank holiday Monday, the car park was busy however we managed to find a space fairly quickly as guests were leaving. We walked through the patio area into the bar & spoke to one of the hosts asking for a table, we wanted a light lunch & drinks. We decided to go to the bar to order our drinks before finding a seat outside in the shade. The lady working behind the bar was on her own and in the middle of preparing drinks for the waiting staff to serve to other guests we were disappointed with the customer service as we weren't even acknowledged, there was no dialogue with us at all while we stood at the bar and waited. Luckily there were tables available both inside and outside and we decided to eat outside in a slightly shaded area. Our server came over very quickly, he was friendly, relaxed and welcoming which certainly helped improve our poor customer service experience while at the bar. We ordered a selection of starters and sides as we only wanted tapas style food and everything was served quickly, it was tasty and hot. We ordered another drink asking the server what alcohol free beers were available, the server was helpful and made a good suggestion. Sadly receiving the drink seemed to take a long time and other guests who had arrived after us were served their drinks earlier, we explained we were still waiting and our server apologised and said our drink would be next, when we were served we were offered another apology. We would probably return as the location and food is good, the customer service seemed to vary, the person who greeted us was welcoming and also our server however the lady serving behind the bar doesn't appear to like customers.

We visited The Vineyard recently for a family celebration, and although our day didn’t go quite as planned, the staff were absolutely exceptional. Unfortunately, we had to make a couple of last-minute changes to our pre-orders, and there were some unexpected circumstances during the meal. Throughout it all, the team couldn’t have been more patient, understanding and accommodating. A special thank you to our waiter, Romain (I hope I’ve remembered your name correctly). He was calm, kind and incredibly professional. He quietly checked in on us throughout the afternoon. He also happily kept one of our meals warm while a family member briefly left and returned, without making us feel like we were causing any inconvenience. The food was lovely, but it was the warmth and compassion shown by the staff that we’ll remember most. It’s easy to provide good service when everything is going smoothly; it’s when things don’t go to plan that you really see how good a team is. Thank you for looking after us with such kindness.

Best sunday roast I can remember ever having. Great food, drinks and service. Special shout out to Frank who went out of his way to ensure all our needs were met. Definitely will be back and recommend to our friends.

Absolutely outstanding experience at The Vineyard as always. From the beautiful setting and incredible gin to the warm, welcoming atmosphere, everything was perfect from start to finish. A special mention has to go to Flo, the manager, who was exceptional throughout our visit. She was so attentive, friendly and genuinely passionate about making sure everyone had the best experience possible. Nothing was too much trouble, and her attention to detail really made the afternoon feel extra special. The whole team created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, and it’s clear how much care goes into every part of the experience. We cannot wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic pub day out. Thank you again, Flo and the team!
